How it Works
The Creative Kids program relies on the following processes to ensure that we remain responsible and accountable to our sponsors, applicants, and volunteers. Learn about our application process, funding, and program structure!
Application Process:
- An application for funding is received by either a local Creative Kids committee or the provincial Creative Kids committee.
- The committee will adjudicate and make a decision on whether funding will be granted. The application is reviewed for parent/guardian consent, appropriate service provider, and suitable endorser. General granting guidelines can be found here, as well as on the application form.
- Once an applicant has been approved for funding, payment to the service provider is issued, provided they have completed a service provider registration form and have been approved by Creative Kids Saskatchewan.
- The applicant can then begin participating in their creative activity!
Funding:
The success of the Creative Kids program relies on the generosity of individuals, communities, and corporate partners. We rely on sponsors, grants, and donations to fund our applicants. 100% of all funds donated to Creative Kids goes to support children and youth in creative activities. For more information about becoming a sponsor or making a donation to Creative Kids, please see Our Supporters.
Program Structure
We rely on volunteer committees to help guide and administer the Creative Kids program. The program structure is based on three key roles: a Creative Kids Provincial Advisory Committee, local Creative Kids committees, and Creative Kids staff support.
Creative Kids Provincial Advisory Committee
- This committee oversees the Creative Kids program strategies and provides guidance to the Creative Kids local committees and program staff.**
- These volunteer committes are community-based and oversee the Creative Kids program in their own community.
Creative Kids Program Coordinator - Christie Nenson
- Christie provides support to the Provincial Advisory Committee as well as all the local committees. She is the primary contact for sponsors and is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Creative Kids program.
**The Provincial Advisory Committee is currently in transition from a Regina-focused committee to a more provincially representative committee. We are looking for leaders that will bring experience in fundraising, community leadership, and youth programming. If you are interested in service on this committee, please contact Dean Kush at (306) 780-9436 or dkush@saskculture.sk.ca.
