Creative Kids Northern Cultural Fund

Creative Kids Saskatchewan, thanks to the support from SaskCulture and Cameco, is offering the Creative Kids Northern Cultural Fund (CKNCF) to support creative programs for children and youth ages 4 to 19 in Northern communities that address the cultural, creative or artistic needs of their community.

Application deadline is March 26, 2018.

Amount: 

Maximum Grant Amount: Up to 100% of eligible project expenses, to a maximum of $7,500.

Priority will be given to: 

  • Programs that support and strengthen the mission, vision and goals of the Creative Kids program:
  • All children and youth in Saskatchewan will have opportunities to realize their potential through access to creative activities.
  • All children and youth have opportunities to participate in creative activities regardless of economic or social barriers they may face.
  • Cultural programming is critical to a healthy, vibrant community.
  • New or existing creative programs for children and youth that address the cultural, creative or artistic needs of the youth of the community.

Eligibilty: 

  • All activities must take place within the established boundary of the Northern Sport, Culture and Recreation District and be for children and youth located in that district (see district map).
  • Programs must demonstrate a primary cultural, artistic or creative focus.
  • All activities, expenditures and follow up reports must be expended and/or completed within 12 months of the program start date.
  • Programs must be for children and youth ages 4 to 19 facing financial barriers to cultural, creative, or artistic participation.
  • Preference will be given to programs that are facilitated by youth (under 30) for children and youth (between 4 and 19).  Community partnerships are encouraged.
  • Retroactive program funding is not eligible.

Northern Sport, Culture and Recreation District

Saskatchewan's Northern Sport, Culture and Recreation Districts facilitates community development and aims to enhance access to sport, culture and recreation programs and services in the province and they can be a valuable resource while you are coming up with ideas for programs in your community.

Only applicants in the Northern District are eligible for this program fund.
